Introduction to Meditation
There are many kinds of meditation and many benefits to meditation such as lowering blood pressure, reducing stress, feeling more emotional balance, increasing creative thinking and awakening our inner spirituality. Meditation is an individual journey that is unique to each person. This class will offer several different kinds of meditation and provide suggestions and tools for creating one’s own meditation practice.

Instructor: Carmen Joy has been devoted to the practice of yoga and meditation for many years. As a student in India, she immersed herself in the inner science of yoga and meditation, experiencing a variety of practices. Check out her website www.carmenjoy.com.

Mindfulness
Meditation
Mindfulness is a particular way of paying attention in the present moment with openness and curiosity. Researched benefits of meditation include reduced stress, depression, anxiety, increased ability to manage and regulate emotions, increased ability to manage and improve pain, and improved sleep. This class will offer conscious movement, mindful meditation, and conversation to reflect on how we can be more peaceful and joyful. Wear comfortable clothing.

Instructor: Jenny Klossner, MA, certified yoga instructor, has been devoted to the practice of yoga and meditation since 2000. She has completed UCLA Marc Meditation Classes MAPS I and MAPS II.

What does spirituality mean? Spirituality is a practice that cultivates a sense of peace and purpose. It is looking within and discovering the meaning of life, connection to nature and your relationship with “Self.” As millions of people grapple with mortality, the quest for answers is growing. In this class, we will discuss ways to incorporate spirituality into your lifestyle.

Instructor: Sheri Mandell is a Deepak Chopra Center Certified Meditation Instructor. Helping people incorporate spirituality into their life is Sheri’s passion.
