Creative
Genius

There’s something about working in a creative field that leaves many people feeling wistful. They want to pursue a creative endeavor, but daily responsibilities and fear of failure get in the way. Learn tools to selfmotivate, banish detrimental phrases such as “I can’t” and “what if” while on the path toward launching a creative business and moving purposefully toward a more fulfilling and balanced life. Even individuals who don’t currently work in artistic fields will find their creative spark and develop the self-belief and tools to make their business and personal life flourish.

Instructor: Margery Walshaw founded Evatopia, a multi-media company with divisions supporting literary management, publishing and digital media. Her clients have sold scripts to Hollywood and books worldwide as well as launched successful businesses in the creative arts.

Reflexology and Essential Oils

Ever wondered how Reflexology or Essential Oils work? After this two day session, you will leave with the knowledge of how both techniques can be used for specific health benefits. We will be practicing how to perform full Reflexology sessions on yourself - both hand and foot Reflexology will be covered. You will also learn how to integrate essential oils to maximize your healing benefits. We will be sampling and smelling over 60 different essential oils and learn about their specific benefits to your health.

Instructor: Lisa Ianiro teaches others how to heal their body naturally through various healing modalities, including nutrition and aromatherapy, and is a professionally licensed Massage Therapist and Esthetician.

Alexander Technique
Not an exercise in the traditional sense, the Alexander Technique applies body alignment principles to reduce stress, fatigue and muscle tension and to counteract chronic pain due to poor posture, neck and shoulder tension and lower back injuries. This introductory class will benefit daily life by increasing the ability to move with ease and freedom. Wear comfortable clothing.

Instructor: Barbara Wegher-Thompson, MA (UCLA), has taught Alexander Technique and Dance since 1991 at CLU. She is a teaching member of Alexander Technique International.

The Art of
Self-Care

In this 4-part workshop for women, you will learn to shift away from the grind of no time, no energy, putting your needs last, and generally not taking care of yourself. Instead, you will create your own healthy toolkit full of self-care methods that are in alignment with what most brings you joy and makes you come alive. By prioritizing your self-care, you will have more energy for those people and projects who most need you, including you! Please bring a pen, a notebook, and an open mind.

How to be Healthy in a Toxic World

Conditions such as asthma, allergies and autoimmune illnesses are on the rise. Beyond the toxicity of our food and outside environment, we must also be aware of products within the home that may be creating a toxic inner environment. This class will look at common cleaning and personal care ingredients you may currently be using and offer safe, simple alternatives.

Introduction to Meditation
There are many kinds of meditation and many benefits to meditation such as lowering blood pressure, reducing stress, feeling more emotional balance, increasing creative thinking and awakening our inner spirituality. Meditation is an individual journey that is unique to each person. This class will offer several different kinds of meditation and provide suggestions and tools for creating one’s own meditation practice.

Series One
In this 4 week course on healthy mindful living learn how to reduce stress and lead a calmer and happier life by living a life in the present moment. Mindful living is the ability to use knowledge, personal understanding and simple meditative techniques to foster peace and balance. These classes will teach you how to reduce worry and anxiety, handle anger and physical pain, improve self-awareness, enhance your peace of mind and more.

The Anatomy of Movement
This workshop will provide students with an understanding of the anatomy of the spine, hips, knees and feet, their related weaknesses and injuries and solutions to deal with pain. Students will learn self-care techniques and tools to strengthen the weakened or injured parts of their body and understand the significance of a well-functioning body for health, happiness and longevity.

Instructor: Katlen Ebert is a Physical Therapist from Germany. She is also a graduate of the LMU Yoga Therapy program.
