Hiking!
Offering several hiking options in our local foothills all of which will meet by the Adult School’s flag pole for the first class. Thereafter, the class will meet at designated trailheads. Wear sturdy trail rated hiking shoes and comfortable clothing in several light layers. Water, sunscreen, and a lightweight backpack or fanny pack are highly recommended.
A hat, snack, and camera/phone are also a good idea.

Forest Bathing

Come and join this peaceful, guided walk through nature, while performing meditative exercises that will relieve stress and calm the mind. Meditations are in a gentle, walking format designed to help release tension, open your senses, and deepen your relationship with yourself and nature. Class concludes with a hot herbal tea and open questions about nature.

Instructor: Laura Pasetta, owner of Wild Rootz, brings passion and years of outdoor experience to her nature hikes and specialty workshops. Laura is a Certified California Naturalist, Certified Chaparral Naturalist, Wellness Coach, and professionally trained in therapeutic herbal medicine.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced practice where mostly passive postures are held for longer periods of time, typically from 3-5 minutes. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints, reduce osteoporosis, improve flexibility and help restore mobility. The practice also creates an arena of mindfulness and opens a gateway to seated meditation practice. Bring a yoga mat.

Qi Gong (Chi Kung)

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese exercise which promotes health, wellness, and balance. It also strengthens the body, mind, and soul. Qi Gong takes the ideas of mindfulness and puts them in a physical form that combines breathing and movement. Come and learn the Qi Gong Movements, taught in a positive energy environment! Qi Gong is easy to learn and takes no special equipment.

Introduction to Meditation
There are many kinds of meditation and many benefits to meditation such as lowering blood pressure, reducing stress, feeling more emotional balance, increasing creative thinking and awakening our inner spirituality. Meditation is an individual journey that is unique to each person. Alexander Technique
Not an exercise in the traditional sense, the Alexander Technique applies body alignment principles to reduce stress, fatigue and muscle tension and to counteract chronic pain due to poor posture, neck and shoulder tension and lower back injuries. This introductory class will benefit daily life by increasing the ability to move with ease and freedom. Wear comfortable clothing.
